On a day that has been less than, well, i’ll go with upbeat for the time being, this record is really helping me cope with all this stupid, job related stress:
SO FUCKING BUMMED THEY’RE BREAKING UP. I caught on a bit late, and i’m not so ashamed to say that it wasn’t until i saw Tony Foresta wearing a The Ergs! shirt in the latest Municipal Waste video that i remembered to check them out,
Luckily, I’ll bare witness to one of their last live outings tomorrow night.
I love Whole Foods, but they are ruining my life right now.
WTF?
It’s been a slow, boring week so far. I’ve been trying my best to sit around and let the muscles in my back sort themselves out, but with little success and the stress of spending most of my afternoon’s watching arrested developement on hulu I’m starting to lose it.
I am excited about saturday, however. The Ergs! are playing in towson, and it will be my first and last time seeing them live, as this is going to be their last tour as a band. I am especially excited about this particular show because it’s being held at a venue (Ten Car Pile Up) that i haven’t visited since I was 16. I believe the last show i attended at this particularly place was xLooking Forwardx and The Fall Line, if i remember correctly. I was with Laurie and we had stopped in town for the night to pick up Billy before one of our New England road trips.
That’s about it for now, I suppose, until i come across more hilarious/wtf-inspiring videos.
And while a lot of what Mr. Wilcock talks about during this lecture ends up being like most of the other conspirinoia/fringe science nonsense I read about but wouldn’t bother sharing with any other rational human being, this particular part made absolute sense to me. It’s maybe the one piece of information that can be undeniably backed up and given substance to by the transcendent imagery of the pine cone throughout the history of every major religion.
While i feel drawn to the idea of 12/21/2012 being the end of an era, per se, i do not subscibe to the idea that it will be a) the second coming of christ or b) the end of our civilization as a whole. However, i am infintely interested in anyones musings on the significance of this particular date when it relates to the Mayan calender and it’s relevance to other events in recent history.
Also, Contact was a shitty movie, I don’t care what anyone says.
